你的女兒是否也是德望學生? 聽說德望英文水準不錯, 請問老師同學平時在堂外也會以英文或普通話交談嗎?

本人認為, 語言環境挺重要的.

我兩個女讀過，而我個姪女讀o緊。
同學們之間在課堂外多數用廣東話，英文堂就一定用英文。
係德望讀書，你一定不用擔心英文水準，在那裡小學畢業的學生，已經o力過好多中學生的英文了。

I would like to know if primary students have to go to school on alternate saturdays? Also what's the school hours for the afternoon school? Thanks.

No school on Saturday for P.1 and P.2.  P.3 to P.6 go to school on alternate saturday.

School hour for pm session: 12:50 - 17:35.

For P3 - P6, is it extracurricular activities on Sats? Will there be school bus arrangement on that day?

My daughter is doing K.2 this year. We really hope that she will get into GHS after K.3 next year. Please would you tell me how is the interview like, and also how should I prepare for that? Many thanks!

我小女今年在德望二年級，學校一年有3個學期，每一個學期，有1次測驗和1次考試，把測驗和考試的成績除2之分數寫在成績表上。而默書1星期有中英各1次 [有時1星期都只是得中or英1次]，把默書之次數除而平均數寫在成績表上。我囡囡都有欠功課or冇帶書都冇罰只是寫手冊通知家長。老師都好關心我囡囡，今年囡囡有事入院做手術，各科老師都把每天所教的和功課記錄交給我，各老師和校長都來醫院探望，班主任又時常打電話關心。我真是很感激各老師和校長的關心和幫忙，這是我的經歴。

Hi hkufrankie,

As far as I remembered, the girl would be asked to draw a picture and interviewed by a teacher in the first round.  The questions sometimes related to the picture she drew.  The parents were asked to fill in a questionnaire about their daughter.  Only the girl was interviewed in the first round.

If the girl was put on the waiting list, she would be called for a second interview when there is place available and this time, the parents would be interviewed as well.  The interviewer would be the school principal.

Hope this help and see if there is any supplement from other GHS parents.

Are there over 40 students in each class?

Besides English lesson  - General Studies, Oral, Phonics are taught in English as well.  For maths, they have both Chinese and English maths.  My girl's class has 40+ students.

Last year, I concerned this point also but teachers can handle it.  Actually, many famous traditional schools have the same class size.

Wnnieng, thanks very much for your reply.
I have no doubt on the teachers' ability to handle the large size class.  they are professional and have much experience.  However, a smaller class size would be better for the teachers to take care of all students, in particular that the students may have different standards and different needs.

Do you know whether the primary school will change to a whole day school and the class size be reduced when the new school premises is completed?
