Depends on private tutor or musical centre. My girl learnt HKD 490 for 4 sessions and 1/2 hrs each sessions for the beginner in the musical centre 2 yrs ago.

hi eirene,

My son is 8 years old and he likes to join the cello class in musical centre for his beginning.  For your reference, which centre does your little girl studies at?  I can see the monthy fee is quite resonable.  Can you give some commons on your girl's musical centre?

My girl learnt in Tsang Fxxx musical centre for 2 years. Since her teacher jumped out became a private teacher, so we followed her. Can't say the teacher is good or not. All depands if your kid like the method of teacher. Mine is a strict teacher, she asked my girl finds all the notes by herself and played the song in the next lesson. It is quite hard for the beginner but can train up their sight reading.
My girl used " string builder " at the very beginning.

My daughter used the following books at the beginning:  (1) New School of Cello Studies Book 1; (2) Scales and Arpeggios Book 1 (grades 1-5); (3) Suzuki Cello School Book 2.
