I am looking for one in HMT too.  How old is your baby?  My daughter is 13.5 mths now.

Hi, my baby has just reached 1 year old, stepping into his 13 months.  I am thinking to let him start attending playgroup at around 16 to 18 months' old...What's your plan?  And when will u start securing nursery or even kindergarten for your lovely one???? Please share if u have time.

My baby will reach 2 yrs old in Nov 07.  I have called a few kindergartens in Kowloon Tong which offers pre-nursery class.  They all said no need to apply so early as they will only accept my daughter when she reaches 2.  I can fax an application form to them, but they will not call you for interview until the baby is around 1.5 yrs old.

I plan to send her to playgroup now as I think she is quite shy in front of other children.  I am a working mom and my daughter is taken care of by my maid.  Although I am lucky enough to have a good maid, she can only take care of my daughter's daily life necessities, but not her development.  I hope my daughter can have better development and have more interesting activities to do in weekday times through attending playgroup.  As she is still very young, that's why I would like to find a playgroup nearby our home in HMT.

I just learned that Funful Group of Schools (in Prince Edward Road) have playgroups too, and I am planning to have a school visit this weekend.

my son has enrolled in both Victoria & Anfield and speaking fm personal experience, Victoria is much much better in terms of environment and staff.  I think both charges around the same.  BUT, there is a longer queue in Victoria so you better call early and ask fr the earliest available spot.  U can get in first and switch to yr ideal time later.

my personal experience in Victoria Playgroup is that they are doing the same things throughout the year;
my personal experience in Victoria is that a NET playgroup teacher is not enthusiastic enough to play with children;
my personal experience in Victorias (I have been studying  both in Hong Kong Island and HMT) that the quality really depends on particular teachers, not facilities.  
Yes, they have good "reputation" and always has a long queue from playgroup to K1.

Hi, bon-bon,

How's your visit to the Funful Gp. of Schools?  Any thing special?  I've just called the Victoria, they said that the waiting list for the Saturday classes was 5 to 6 months.  So if u are interested , maybe u can fax an application form to it first.
