     I just got the news from my daughter. She said there are 20 group of student for competition.

嘩,真的很意外,因當初我想可能是新常試,而且我知大部份是p.2-3 學生,只有小許是p.4. Total around 50 kids.

看了他們當天出發前的排練: 發音很標準, 聲音充滿自信, 個個臉帶笑容, 沒有太多的動作, 加上紅毛衣很醒目......每週兩小時的練習, 努力有了成果!

Oh, I miss the 出發前的排練 on that day as I donesn;t know they will let us see 出發前的排練.  So, I just leave my daugther in playgound and back home.    

But, really appreciated the teacher put effort on this.

這對明年/未來英基全面提高普通話中文水平是一個很大的鼓舞.

Does anyone knows what are the schools participating in this competition ?

International schools ONLY ? or a mixture of international and local schools ??

It will be very encouraging for those in RC to know that being first timers, they are able to come in FIRST !

SO RC is an international school which does not undermine the importance of Chinese (Putonghua).

I am sure given time - RC will be a truly biligual international school - proficient in ENGLISH AND CHINESE !

這絕對是"a mixture of international and local schools" 的校際朗誦(普通話)比賽, 而且啟新書院是唯一一所國際學校, 據家長們說往年鳳凰國際也沒參加過團體賽, 呂明才(沙田圍?我也搞不清哪所呂明才)得亞軍.

During the RAPT election meeting, one parent said that Phoenix Interl has "folded" into RC..  I agree with him.

So for now, RC will be a totally NEW INDIVIDUAL entity .. and it will perform its best to prove itself..

今天收到通告, 說除了一, 二年級組別得冠軍, 連五,六年級的同學也得了"優良", "優良"是不是第三名?

Oh, that's really a good news.
My son was being 'invited' to join the team but since his schedule does not fit into their schedule, I did not let him join. What a shame.

Dear Ruby,

May wait for next year! if my child can join the team again next year, I'll let him stop other CAS for three months.  As I've been told that most of the children are from Cantonese speaking family,  so the Putonghua teacher really did a good job.

My son said he 'wanted' to join. I think he just 'wanted' becos' they had won !

雖說RC的中文教材比本地學校的慢半個學期, 但老師的素質卻很好, 因她們不是靠考試培訓才會說流利普通話的, 而小孩學語言靠的就是模仿(學語文則例外), 有標準的發音, 整體朗誦聽起來才特別自然, 所以才有這麼好賽果.

I am glad to learn about this news.

My son is RC student but he has not heard anything about this activity.  I asked whether they did any rehersal during the assembly but he cannot remember if there is any.
