Re: 直 資名校可世襲
Unless the concept of "elite school" was cleared up or erased in the parents' mind or every school in HK are retitled as "elite schools", there will never be a "fair" policy in the universe. Parents with their kids rejected by the limited no. of "elite school" will always feel unfair.
Personally I agree with this EMB policy, i.e. school must accept the kids with their brothers or sisters are existing students. I recall that when I was in primary and secondary schools (70's to 80's), myself and most of my classmates have siblings studied at different levels of same school. Also, our parents usually chose the school nearby our home and so most of my classmates were my neigbours in the same housing estate as well. So this policy is very logical. Elder siblings can take care the younger one and younger siblings can inherit the books and uniforms from brothers and sisters. Even you may say that it may not be the case now as most of the parents are very rich now, however, it will definitely be an advantage for parents to have their kids in same school so that the parents can easily to get used to the school systems and communication with the school.
However, this idea is heavily twisted nowadays by the parents' "elite school" concept. Parents always feel that "elite school" is the best for their kids regardless of location, school culture, experience and connection with the school etc. If someone has better priority or other privileges over their kids to enter into "elite school", they will complain and complain. So what for? |
