You mean the Kowloon Baptist Church Kindergarten? English-speaking and non-Cantonese speaking children have the highest priority but I know some kids there speak Cantonese too.

It's an international kindergarten adopting the learning-thru-play approach.  Lots of arts & craft and singing.  Chapel, library and PE sessions once a week. Do you know which primary schools will the students from the Knowloon Tong Baptist Church's Kindergarten go to?

They usually go to ESF I heard.

I heard that this kinder is now linked to the new Baptist Wong Kam Fei primary and secondary school at Shatin, isn't it?

The one you referred to is the Hong Kong Baptist University Kindergarten, which is an affiliated school of the HKBU.  The newly opened Wong Kam Fai Secondary and Primary School in Shek Mun is also an affiliated school of the HKBU.  Kowloon Baptist Church Kindergarten is only a small kindergarten run by the Kowloon International Baptist Church in its own premises.

1. Do you know how many students and teachers are in one class?
2. What questions would they ask the parents in the interview?
3. What language do they use to conduct the interview, Chinese or English?

My son is studying K1 in KBCK now and I can share with you my experience of the interview last year. Actually they don't ask question like what's your name, where do you live those kind of questions. They will see if your kid understand English or they speak in English. My son even cried during the interview but he was accepted cause he understood what they talked and he talked to me in English. Hope it will give you some idea about the interview and good luck.

My son is pretty happy in studying there but what I heard from some of my friends,  it's not as good as before. May be you try to get some more comments about this school.

1.        There are max 30 children in a class with one head teacher and two assistants.

2.        In the interview, it's more like an informal chat to make sure that your kid speaks English.  The administrator will chat with both the parents and the child.  Then the child will be led to the classroom to meet with the teacher and the children there. That's what happened at the interview 2 years ago. Not sure if there's any change to the arrangement now.

3.        The interview is conducted in English only as it's a kindergarten for English-speaking children.  

4.        There has been some staff turnover and the school is not running as smoothly as before.  I think that's what people mean when they say the school is not as good as before.  In fact, a lot of teachers have left but I'd say the new teachers are also devoted to children.

My daughter also applied on next Jan interview.    But I want to know if it's only the way to International Pirmary school.   If it is any way to Local Pirmary School??

I believe most children will go to international school because the kindergarten offers classes up to K2 only.  There's no Chinese teaching at all.  You'll need to find another kindie for K3 if you aim at local primary.

I called up KBCK regarding the school voucher a while ago. The administrator said they're still negotiating with the education bureau, will publish the result later on.
