Does anyone receive the letter from Sha Tin Junior? they mentioned that they have 150 places available in year one and they have received around 220 applications.

Interview letters will be sent out by end of Dec.  They said that no. of applications to ESF have dropped while no. of applications to RC have increased this year.

How do you know the no. of applications to SJS?

The letter was posted in the SJS's website, I just wonder whether they will send the letter to every applicant.

Offers of interviews will be made b4 the end of November and the first offer of interviews will go to  Category 1.  A student's place within each of the category and priority lists was then determined by a ballot.

I received the email fm ESF that told me the same info. yesterday.

What if i haven't given them my personal e-mail address. Will I be informed? as so far I haven't received any news from them. Will they give you offer of interview via e-mail but not a letter by post?

I called SJS admission office and they posted the letters last Monday. ESF kinder will have interviews as well as highest priority. In case interview fail then will post to the queued candidate for interview.

My friends girl get interview at 8/2/07 as her sister was studying in STJS.

We've got the reply letter from STJ and Hong-Hong will be interviewed on 7 February.

Can someone from STJ give us some hints? What will the interview be about? What do they want to know about the parents and the child? Is it better for the couple to attend the interview together? Or it doesn't matter if only one of us will attend the interview?

Don't worry too much if your child can speak fluent English.  Just read more stories with her/him & make sure s/he can response to the story.  Have enough sleep the night before and don't eat too much on that morning.  Dont give your child too much pressure.  

It doesn't really matter whether both parents are present.  They only interview the child, not the parents.

Thanks so much! That's not difficult for my boy, that's what we have always been doing, may I know more about:

1. Will the children be told a story in a group? Or individually?
2. Do they have to compete to response to the teacher?

1. In a group.
2. They don't have to, but better.

BTW, what is the class structure in Shatin College?
Yr1- Yr6 SJS
Yr7 - Yr ? Shatin College?

I read from the IBO hp that MYP is for 11 - 16 yr
Does that mean it takes 6 years?
And then the child needs to spend another 2 or 4 years for the diploma programme?

Y1 to Y6 -- SJS
Y7 to Y11 -- SC

MYP is from Y7 to Y11. IB Diploma will take 2 years, i.e. Y12 & 13.

My son suggests that you should ask your child to speak more and tell more about himself/herself during the interview.  Don't be shy. Don't be babyish. Be confident. They have asked "What do your parents do?"  Don't be mistaken, you don't need to be rich. They may ask your child to draw a picture of your family and ask questions about your family.

BTW do you mean SJS?  We always use SJS to represent Shatin Junior School.
