Any recommendation for international secondary school

Dear all,

My son is studying in Kingston International School in P4. He is nine years old.  I am looking for a secondary school for him. Some friends have advised me to transfer him to a good DS school. But I am just too nervous about those workload in the local streamed school. I have been thinking of the ESF. I heard that Kingston offers a through train to a new secondary in Clear Water Bay run by the Creative group. It is called Creative Secondary. Has anyone heard about it. Any information as well. My son has applied CIS as well but there is still no reply.

Mind you that competition for CIS is very keen; it is more academic-oriented compared with other IS.

I know that the existing principal of Creative Seconday is the ex-principal of Renaissance College.

I mean P.6 Kingston students joined year 7 of RC this year.

Creative secondary's principal is the ex-principal of Phoenix (now RC) last year.  Also know that 1/3 of Creative P.6 students joined Creative secondary this year.

Thanks for your message.  But I still queried how come they got to know that they have been accepted by RC for Y7 next year Sept? Don't they need to take any interview in Feb or March, 07?

One more point, if Kingston offers through train to Creative Seconday, how can the students' age be matched in F1 as the age admitted to F1 in int'l school is 11 but local is 12?

I mean they have joined RC Y7 by 9/06, not 07.

IS P.6 students are all 11 when graduated, one year younger than local.  So it will be better to join IS such as RC which offers 5 years MYP and 2 years IBD.  If Kingston's students join Creative as through train, they have to study together with P.6 students from Creative primary (age 12), there maybe quite big variance in English, Chinese and Maths standard among the F.1 students in Creative Secondary.  Creative primary students are good at Chinese and Maths but not very good at English.

You may like to ask Creative's principal Mr. Cheung directly on this issue and how their students can finish MYP in 4 years' time only.
