嶺南幼兒園 interview on 11/11

我11/11 帶囡囡去嶺南幼兒園 interview for N1... we arrived at 2:00 p.m. and finally left there at 3:40 p.m... but the interview only last for 2 mins... the rest of the time we just stayed in the classroom and my daughter played toys there..      

I think the Lingnan interview main purpose is not to interview our children, but to have 校監趙博士to "SELL" the school and how good their school is etc...

Actually the teacher only asked my daughter 2 questions and observed her to play toys for 1 min., then 1 parent has to take care of their children to play toys, the other parent will go to a hall to listen to 校監趙博士's speech for 40 mins... my husband went to listen to her speech... his conclusion is 校監趙博士 is a very good "sales" and "businesswoman"...

As Lingnan is not my first priority, we won't consider it unless my daughter is not accepted by other school...    
it seems to me that Lingnan will accept most of the students there...

It seems to be quite strange. 校監趙博士also gave a speech after the interview to sell the school. I attended a talk given by Dr. Chiu at her research centre recently and I asked her about Lingnan and Creative. She told me that Lingnan was not good in terms of its location, school facilities and she said that the school hour started from 9.30 a.m. which was 30 mins. less, etc. ..... She asked me to apply Creative. Therefore, I have not apply for Lingnan and my daughter will have an interview at Creative on 25/11.
I know that the dream school for your daughter is SPN. Recently, many of my friends said that SPN was a very good school. They said that the girls were smart, presentable and confident. The girls graduated from St Paul's Convent had both good written and spoken English. I'm still considering whether I should apply as I know the chance of getting in is really little. We're not Catholic and have no relation with the school. I also don't know whether my daughter can adapt to a whole day school. I heard that the teachers were quite straight and the students had to be very self-displined. Can you share why you consider SPN as a dream school for your daughter?

Why Dr. Chiu will compare 2 of her schools and said Creative is better, really a strange woman...before, i heard people said Lingnan is good, that's why i apply for my daughter... after the interview day, it seems Dr. Chiu just want to sell more of her "晶晶" books.. very funny to me!

I chose SPN as my 1st priority as my colleague's daughter is studying there, he said a lot of positive comments about the school, like his daughter is more independent, learn to do things by herself, good discipline, well-behavior etc... also, it is one-dragon school to St. Paul's Convent Primary if the kids are doing okay at SPN or SPK...  that's why i hope my daughter can get into SPN even it is very competitive.. if u apply the school, there is a chance, if u don't even try, there is 0 chance la...

If u don't like SPN as a full-day school, u can apply SPK for K1 which is a half-day school...    i don't mind for full-day school as i rather let my daughter to play at school than staying home with maid all the time...

I heard many positive comment from Lingnan before and so I asked Dr. Chiu about this after the talk. However, Dr. Chiu told me the above. For SPN,  my hubby  also considered that it was good to have an one-dragon school. I think I'll gather more information first as I found that some of my colleagues were graduated from this school and some have daughters studying in the primary session. For SPK, the competition is really keen. My colleague's daughter failed the interview last year and only got a seat in Sacred Heart. Maybe we can exchange more information later.
