don't give up, 4A and3A has included phonics. My two daughters can learn phonics from Kumon English however they are not able to absorb from outside phonics class.
The theory of Kumon English is quite good. they need to listen everyday which can give them strong memory on the sound.

咁要睇why學英文,如果為應付考試, 選多操練的kumon當然好, 但係如果你認為學英文speaking同listening(溝通)先至最重要, 當然一對二phonics好d.

why do you want to give up? i've heard that kumon is very good.
by the way, from what age is the best age for children to start learning kumon?

我同你個case差唔多, 女女都係學到5A, 覺得搵外藉老師教1堂都係差唔多錢 (kumon $440/month, 平均即 $110/0.5hr) , 好似唔值...

其實我覺得kumon都唔平, 同埋只係靠死板咁聽咁做, 呢樣唔係我想要既野囉.  始終英文係要互動, 小朋友係輕鬆既情況下學野係最好. 我個女都係搵單對單. 現在已經學左半年有多, 感覺佢好似對英文信心大左, 而且, 見佢做作業都快左和好自然咁做. 我個人覺得中文和英文都係浸返黎. 唔急得....

無可否認, 女女嘅認字係有進步, 話晒都迫佢每日對住d英文呀! 所以都唔知應該幫佢 quit...

my son have been to Kumon almost 1 year but he don't like there's too many worksheet, so i ask him to try cambridge english then waiting for his selection.

My daughter studies Kumon for half year (both Maths and English).  She likes to take lesson and doen't like to do the worksheet.  I am now wonder do I still let her continue or not.

She is now going to study 5A for English.

I guess your daughter feel bored caused she used half year to 5A.
my daughter used 1.5 month from 7A to 5A that's why she is still very interesting.

以我所知公文英有兩套教材, 其中EFL是比較快升級, 亦比較易...

my daughter studied EFL, it is more for local school. not for international school.
