Hi Shatin Ma Ma, I'm also looking for KG in the HK Island for my boy.

How about St Joseph's?  Is it really 難考?  But they don't have K1.   :-|

Oh, I moved to HK side a few years ago. I created the nickname "ShatinMaMa" when I was living in Shatin - a BK fans:

My boy is only 14 months but I don't know if there is any good kindergardens for boys. There are plenty for girls. My girl is studying at SPK but I think I will not send my boy there because can't take advantage of through-train.

I only know St Joesph preimary school. No idea about St Joesph kindergarden. Where is it?

St. Joseph's Kindergarten is located on the top floor of the Primary School Building.

Shatinmama,
U might want to consider sending your boy to St. Joseph kinder as this is a through-train to primary school. They only have K2 n K3. So u still have to look for another kinder for his first year of studying!!!
The school normally has around 250-300 applicants, they will pick 80 out of these hundreds. Difficult or not? it is all depends!!!!!! Cheers

nattyma, thank you. Maybe I can send him to nursery to attend n1 and 2 then consider St Joseph K2.

can you explain to me how St.josephs can be a through-train kindergarten to primary school since St. Jo is a governtment subsidized school. I under that govt-subsidised schools, like La Salle and Maryknoll, cannot choose their students but instead have to go through the Primary One allocation scheme.

因為st jo有8班小一咁多, 成200個位, 所以, 撇除左第1,2 round派既位, 都仲有幾多位可以收返自己kinder學生
不過, 到升中一, 8班小六爭5班中一, 仲要預埋外面學生, 就唔係幾好玩喇..... :cry:

hi charlotte..... in this year (06/07)less than 1/5 kindergarten kids can promote to Primary in the 1st round!

the no. of Primary class will also be deducted to 5 later. And the secondary school only accept the first 80 students from the primary school.
