Going to govt child assessment centre for pre-primary school assessment

My son is scheduled to see the psychologist.  Please advise what will be asked or expected?

First, the psychologist will talk to the parents to understand the daily behaviour of the child.  Then the child will have the assessment with the psychologist alone.  Then the result (to normal school / special school) will be known right after.  Therefore, I don't know the exact questions raised.  But the psychologist told me my son refused to write some very simple character (人, 大) and asked the psychologist to teach him.  Also there are around 30 chinese characters, very simple (山, 海, 大, 小, 田, 日) for my son to read but no response from him.  The psychologist said since your son cannot write and read, this is one of the reasons why she recommended he should go to the special primary school.  So the most important is whether our children are willing to co-operate during the assessment and whether the psychologist is care enough.

Thanks to chanchanboy too.  I was just informed last Saturday that my son will go to see the psychologist in Yau Ma Tei on 4 July.

Oh !  I forgot to mention that the assessment with the child alone will last for 45 minutes to an hour.

do you remember me?  havel you also got the information from school when you neeed to do the assesment?  I haven't any news about it

Do you mean you haven't have the assessment yet?  You can call the assessment centre to check.  

I choose to repeat K3 for 1 year in normal kindergarten.  But it is better you have the idea which school you want.
