你點教仔女英文呀？

教材 is only an assistant, the most important thing is parent's time and effort.  My baby goes to the public library everyday, she reads over 30-40 books a day, and can speak over 150 English words and sing a few children songs....  she is now 18 months old.

我之前都有買呢套教材, 我都覺得家長既陪同係好緊要, 因為套教材真係要家長陪小朋友一齊去學, 才會有更好既效果. 唔係小朋友大個咗係無mud興趣去睇, 因為佢地巳經識choose電視節目睇, 同埋有同學仔會傾計講其仔既tv節目. 不過我覺得最後果12隻basic abc, 真係有d悶, 都無mud 卡通人物, 多數真人做, 我就係甘套教材無mud點用.

My two daughters also using full sets WF when they were 9 months, they can speak English well and my younger daughter 3.5yrs can read bookings herself when she was 2yrs old too.

We are still playing playalong card somethings.

oopss.. sorry for misleading you, I show her the picture/picture cards/poster and ask her to tell me the name.  So, I think she knows the pictures but not the words.  I have posters at the wall just in front of her highchair, whenever she sits there, she could see them.  I will change the posters and their position from time to time, whenever she notices the new posters, she will laugh as she thinks it is funny and things look different.  E.g. I bought all the 12 animals from McDonald and played with her, taught her the names, and so, she picked up the 12 names....  E.g. I bought the magnetic board with the letters A-Z, and I randomly showed her one and ask her to tell me what's the letter, and ask her to tell me the phonetic sound and give me example of an item inside the house starts with the letter...  She usually has this right, except the letter "O"...       Octopus becomes Ocputos .......

Another tips is, let the baby feels and touchs and sees the real things (if possible).  She picked up Seal/Dolphine/Shark/Whale/Fish/Cable Car/Birds/Owl/Parrot/Panda very quickly after visiting OC.

I think the most important thing is NOT to teach Cantonese and English at the same time by the SAME person.  So, I as the mother, I only talk to her in English, so, she knows she could only communicate with me in English.  But other people talk to her in other languages at home.    

My "dream" is for her to talk in Eng to me, talk in Mandarin to her gong-gong, talk in Cantonese to my maid... then, this is perfect       But still a long long way....  Add-oil together lar!!!

About 5 days a week, she needs to join some playgroups during weekends.  My maid brings her to the library. She reads the books at home, usually during night time when I am at home as she loves to read books with me.  As the books have only 10+ pages, it takes her 1-2 minutes (?) to finish 1 book, for an hour at night, she could read many many books.

對唔住, 以下的意見可能會引起大家的反感, 但實在有感到而發. 為何大家這麼緊張仔女細細個便要學英文?   二歲未到便要懂過百個英文詞彙?  大家可能好同意dwe的其中一個賣點--"我們不會擔心仔女學唔好中文, 因為他們是生長於中文語言環境, 所以我們要為仔女建立一個英文語言環境..."  是的, 本人絕對同意建立英文語言環境對學英文很有幫助.  但要注意的是,1) 中文(包括中文寫作)要學得好於個人而言是比英文更難. 2) 一歲兩歲便學外語, 相對四五歲開始學的, 到將來讀大學, 做工時, 有什麼分別? 3) 大家認為要敎好小朋友品德的話, 父母用中文或英文能較容易表達? 本人而言是中文.
现時很多有名氣的幼稚園主要以小朋友英文程度收生,這現象實令人可惜. 慶幸還有些注重發展小朋友多樣智能的幼稚園可選擇.
