大埔中心牟利琴行?

My daughter is taking class at X黎琴行 starting last year and I was told this week that I need to pay 4 lessons fee for 3 lessons only. They said this is their tradition that during chinese new year, every student needs to pay 1 lesson cost (without getting the lesson) as a gift for teacher. But, each student needs to do so, and they will be closed for 7 days. I feel like they are putting their closing cost to parents. Is it common practice for 琴行?

琴行一般做法，新年ｏ個一堂當送比老師ｏ既。
不過一開始學琴時，琴行已經講清楚ｏ左。

I never heard of this. It should be up to parent to do it or not, it sounds like everyone needs to do so. Wow, they really know how to make money. Besides, learning piano,etc is not cheap on average, then each student need to pay ~$200 to the teacher!

I just can't accept this as I feel like I am forced to do so. Besides, this 琴行 is not very good anyway, I need to start looking for a better teacher. may be I should use private teacher at home again, 琴行 is very commercial mostly.

琴行一定牟利ｏ架喇，最緊要係睇下個老師好唔好。

There are always good teachers anyway, don't let this type of 牟利琴行 to take advantage from parents.
