I went to the PolyU centre in Wanchai last week and is awaiting their referral to the PolyU Clinic.  Right now I'm researching the other optical care centres which also provide the service.

我囡囡由舊年約十月開始用呢種鏡片，依家佢唔須要再戴眼鏡已經可以維持整日，視光師話如情況無變，下次覆診後可以試隔日戴。

I searched in the internet and got some information for sharing below:

So far the FDA of US has granted overnight wear approval to the following two products :

CRT from Paragon ; and
VST from Bausch & Lomb's

The CRT has a longer history and is certified in 2002 while the VST is a more recent product.

I checked that the CRT has only one approved agent in Hong Kong (Mongkok) and I am planning to call them tomorrow for details.

How many degrees your girl has before using 角膜矯型鏡片? Which brand your girl is using and how much is it? My little boy (almost 5 yrs old) has 100C already. I'm afraid his situation will be getting worse rapidly. If so, I may consider 角膜矯型鏡片. Do you think it is suitable for such a small kid?

Dear all,

我囡囡未用呢種眼鏡之前，大約有300 度近視，我地選擇用呢個方法係因為佢嘅度數突然標升，半年升咗75度，再加上佢踏入發育期，恐怕一發不可收拾，所以先決定用呢種眼鏡 。但始終呢個方法有危險性，如果小朋友太細或者唔合作，我相信會好難做到，所以如果真係有興趣，應先跟專業視光師了解多 d pros and cons 再作決定。至於價錢，因為我地個視光師係朋友關係，只係收咗成本價，至於來原我只知道係由美國定番黎，無考究係邊間廠！

I hope my boy doesn't need to use this kind of lens la. How old was your girl when she started using the lens? Is she able to manage the lens on her own?

My daughter started from 7/2005.(7 Yrs old)
Left Eye - 150.
Right Eye - 200.

Price - HK$3000 for the lens & eye's check.

她一開始就可以自行配戴及除鏡,不用我幫忙.

- how old is your daughter when she first started the contact lens
- years of using the lens
- and the progress of her myopia after using the lens?  I mean without visual aids.

Grateful if you can share the experience and results.

I have checked one optometric centre and they said they charge around $12,000 to 18,000. Can you tell me where you got the lens? Thank  you!

PolyU 要 $16000 啊, 係全個package 計, 包一年內需換的鏡片及覆診.  下星期帶囡囡去試戴, 有新消息到時可以話俾大家知.

我囡囡10 歲，正式計應該係舊年11月開始用。係連續用咗約三日後去 check 眼，已經發現佢變咗 0 度，而亦可維持足一整日，視光師話佢個 effect 係非常好個類，因為有 d 小朋友須要比較長時間先可以去到零度。如果情況持續，下次覆診後可能會改做隔晚戴。
由一開始，我都要囡囡自己學戴，因為始終係佢嘅事，我只係做一個 supervise 嘅角色，同埋我覺得佢自己戴受傷嘅機會比我幫佢戴少。當然初初開始時係有一定難度，但只要佢克服咗'驚' 呢樣嘢後，就好快得心應手啦！依家佢非常 enjoy 唔駛戴眼鏡但又睇得好清楚嘅日子，因為已經好耐無試過啦！

My son went to the Optometric Practitioners Centre in MK yesterday and did a comprehensive test.  He put on a pair of trial lens but because of the limited choice of trial lens, he couldn't open his eyes wide and the optometrist said they'll try to get some other sizes next time.  He also tried the soft contact lens which he found it no problem.  Examination fee is $350.

Price for the ortho-K lens will be around $12000 and $18000.
