Re: 幾歲開始學琴好?
I don't agree with the statement about "pro" teachers.
My teacher was a prodigy and performed with Denver symphony at 14 (a big deal) but she managed to be one of the top pedagogues in Canada, where her students won competitions and entered promising schools (Washington state, Manhatton..)
The teachers at the music store may lack education, that's true. However, any teacher without "performing experience" is a greater disadvantage. One can teach students play piano but can't teach them to enjoy "playing" unless they expose themselves on stage to share music with others. Such difference will be playing piano for oneself than inspire others through music.
Going from a beginner to a professional is a long journey. What they undergo is far more qualified to teach any level (of course omitting some prodigies like eugene kissin, who is a genius from very young age). What matters is their personality, their ability to verbally express what they want from a student. This is same for ANYONE in the music stores or got grade 8.
The other factor is whether the teacher and student click.

the best age to start piano playing is around 4 years old, of course that depends on the personality of the child. Some child has strong concentration and is able to sit through a 30 minutes lesson but other may not. My experience tell me that girl has a better concentration and focus than boy. The introductory lesson should be 20-30 minutes. After the child had a year lesson, you can add to 45 minutes. It is best that you find a teacher with teaching credential, that is with qualified teaching experience and education. You can of course find senior student who complete higher grade "Grade 8"give out lesson to junior grade but the thing is they can only teach you child "note" and perhaps "song". They lack the mentality to really teach a child to enjoy music and enjoy playing the piano. Getting an educational teaching diploma require the understanding of child psychology and music foundation education, which indeed is the most important criteria to give out a valuable lesson. I personally find teacher at music store lack the necessary educational background. Of course parent need not find a professional piano player or a genius musician to teach their child because these professional player are so "pro"enough in their childhood that they do not understand how a typical child would go through a normal learning path. To make a statement short, the best teacher would be the one with the patience, love for child and most of all the music teaching background and education. |
