SUPER KINDERGARTEN

This is an extract from a e-Kindergarten Report.  I like this KG very much and I believe that they are amongst the best in HK.

Report on Teaching Curriculum

To prepare for the new term in 2006, the teaching staff reviewed and assessed the progress of the Mandarin, English and Math curriculum and we are delighted to report on the following:

Mandarin

We do not believe that we should continue to use Cantonese to teach Chinese in Hong Kong. A change of trend is already evidenced by 32 Catholic primary schools changing their teaching curriculum to Mandarin in 2005/06 academic year. We believe that more schools will join the band wagon in 2006/07.

Since the beginning of term in August, the Mandarin teachers themselves were astonished by the positive response given to them by your children. An assessment meeting was held during which we further fine tuned the curriculum and teaching methods to improve its efficiency and made it even more fun and lively.

K.3 teachers are confident that children leaving the school this year would have learnt to recognise around 1,500 words before end of term 2006. This will give them the reading ability of a P.4 Hong Kong student. We firmly believe that K.3 children graduating in 2006/07 would have learnt in excess of 3,000 words when they graduate, placing them around F.1 literacy level.

Mathematics

Children can learn anything taught to them in a fun, factual and joyous way.

Our Right Brain math curriculum has been enjoyed by both parent and children. Our teachers have reported that children do their workbook in advance of classes, a positive sign showing parents that they do surely enjoy their classes.

Mathematics is taught in English and children enjoy a story telling session in their math class. This give children better speaking and listening skills.

English

Our staff consists of expat teachers from U.S., Canada and U.K..  We are dedicated to quality without compromise and we will start to distribute flashcard for children to take home as part of parents’ home game materials. Seminars will be held and the School Supervisor will personally explain and demonstrate to parents the skills and reasons for the flashcard program. We are confident that our teachers and its proven English system will put your children amongst the best academically.

IQ, EQ??

It is important to note that your child is at school 1/5 of their day only. Parents must understand that the school is their partner in raising a happy, balanced and knowledgeable child. The joy, challenge and obligation of parenthood can in no circumstances be delegated to the school.

We are dedicated to make a difference but we cannot achieve the goal without your support and understanding.

THIS IS A BREATH OF FRESH AIR FROM THE BORING STUFF THAT WE GET FROM SCHOOL EACH DAY
