有港大同學會小學的朋友嗎?  值得推荐嗎?

They place emphasis on critical thinking. There is more room for discussion between students and teachers, and hence more freedom for expression of thoughts and ideas, unlike most of the old fashioned schools.But there is exception of course. One of my children graduated from Marymount and is now in Oxford University. Though it (Marymount) may seem an old fashioned school, it actually encourages freedom of speech in the school and hence she has no difficulty in studying in a foreign university. So putting a child in a school which encourages freedom of thoughts is more important than just counting on the academic results of a school.

Anxious parent,

First, you have no right to know the answers because you are a RUDE person.
Second, if you think people are bluffing, then why do you want to know the answers. You are just a JERK.
Third, as your name anxiousparent suggested, you are a NOSY fellow. Just stay away from this serious topic.

I am not nosy.  "Nosy" presupposes that I want to find out some facts about you or your daughter.  No.  I want to expose your bluffing.  I know you are bluffing because you thought that there were no Oxonians here who can ask you sensible questions about Oxford.   You dare not answer because although you can look up basic information about Oxford on www. ox.ac.uk you know that deeper probing will reveal that you have no Oxonian daughter (cannot imagine why a Paulinian would send her daughter to MSS - wanna talk about rivalries between "elite" schools in HK? C'mon ...).

Actually I do not think you are bragging.  As I said in another thread, if you are truly bragging and boasting you will not hide your identity behind a pseudonym.  I can only guess that you derive a perverse sense of satisfaction by "pretending" to boast about your kids.   Perhaps taking the pi** out of some other parents?

You are an interesting character, quoting the words of Uncleedward, because you are contradictory. What is bluffing, bragging and boasting? Are they the same or almost the same or totally different?

Hi

This is a school that generates much discussions amongst parents - love versus hatred.  You must be prepared to break out of traditional thoughts and accept the concept of University-style education within a primary school.

Just quoted from their website. I really buy this point.  But, in the reality of Hong Kong, students need to face the public exam.

Hi brianli2009,

As said by Y2KChild, IB still has its own exam.

For HKUGA, we call it 'assessment' instead of 'exam'. Is there any difference? The difference should be lie in the attitude of how you view and handle it.

I am a lazy mom. I really like the 'assessement' of HKUGA because sometimes you know it only after the paper was marked and given back to your child.   Or in some cases you will get the notice maybe, say, just one week prior to it.  

(This situation only applies to P.1-2)
