My 7 yrs old is capable of playing the kids version. You can find some in varying difficulties for kids at

For younger children, you can try with colours and shapes or alphabets. I've tried making my own 2 X 2 colour and shape sudoku for my 4 yrs old. You might find more inspiration at http://www.sudoku.com/

As for myself, I like http://www.websudoku.com where they set a timer so you can compare your result to that of others. I find it very challenging racing to finish a puzzle.
