如果你等1月10日先報第2輪,係可以參加自行分配,因培基係直資,唔計架. 但自行考嗰間學校,就算係收左你小朋友,你係唔知架,要等大攪珠公報,而培基收就會好快知,因為佢要你放棄大攪珠個學位.

學業成績– 30%; 操行– 20%; 課外活動– 10%; 學生面試– 30%; 家長面試– 10%
They know學業成績 is more related to the parents’ / schools’ pressure but comparatively less related to students’ intelligence. Therefore, the weighting of academic result and student interview are the same. So, student interview is critical, you should try even your kid is a band 2 student.

More tips for interview:
Freedom. Even the lunch supplier is voted by students. Parents cannot push their kids to select a particular after school activities, they have to select by their own wish.
Pressure. They do not encourage hard working in young age. Form 1 & 2 is their character development phase. They know “Talk Hoi” in “Initial D” and “Twins” are their idols but not CEOs. Hard working is necessary in higher forms for further education.

Student interview
They should know the school well before attending the interview. You should read their website with your kid. You should explain to him/her in English. They don’t need English speakers but understanding English is a must. If your kid cannot answer their questions in English, they can use a little Chinese in order to show they understand their questions. Students must show their eagerness to this school but not only pushed by parents.

Parent interview
You can show your eagerness.
If you are not Christian, don’t try to pretend to be. Bear in mind that religion is a good spiritual education.
Let me take the other post “fing pen” in BK as an example. If you say you hate “fing pen”, you will lose I guess.

Sorry, can you explain the following?  I don't quite understand the meaning :

“Talk Hoi” in “Initial D” and “Twins” are their idols.
"Talk Hoi" is a character in the Japanese cartoon "head word D". You should know what is "Twins"
CEO = Chief Executive Officer, Big boss.

You are your kid’s idol until 11 years old. Now, characters in TV are their idols.
The school would accept the idols which you don’t accept. Anyway, you should know who is your kid’s idol. They may ask. Be honest, don’t tell lies in interview.
You need to understanding the schools’(not only Pooi Kei) 教學理念 before interview.
The principal was an outdoor social worker. He had been chatting, playing and teaching bad kids on street for years. He knows more than us.
品德, 德育is their mission.
You should discourage “Fing Pen” but you can’t hate. You can encourage and discourage but not push and stop. You got it?

Parent Interview
In the self-study room(a big room). 8-10 tables right there and each couple(couple preferred, don't go alone) interview with a teacher / the principal. Each interview last for 3-5 minutes.
Student Interview
In the classrooms upstairs. Each interview should be longer than parent interview. Parents were not allowed to go to upstairs to the classroom.
Dress
I remember no applicant wore school uniform. Even it was, it must be very few. Most dressed in smart casual. Wearing school uniform doesn’t mean good because it represents discipline but not self-discipline. Smart is the most important.
校長推薦信
It is essential. However, most are standard format.

各位：唔好意思…..我有d唔係好明 ？？小朋友已經係Band one學生，而沙田亦有很多很好的band one 資助學校，為甚麼不參加統一派位，而去報讀一間自已也不大清楚師資及banding的學校（還要支付學費）？因為以我所知，如果小朋友成積好的話，就算不好彩派得不滿意的，也可帶著優秀的成積表到學校敲門報讀，我亦有朋友在派位時派得不滿意（她的小朋友屬band one生）但最後亦可找到band one學校呢！

Very good question.
If your kid is band 1. You don’t need to apply a DSS school now. The only problem is whether your kid’s result will be stable at his/her P6 second term exam. Will he/she suffer flu at the 2nd term exam?
Especially those kids in Shatin, they are lucky because there are too many EMI schools. I don’t know the banding but I think most parents’ objective is EMI but not band 1.
At this moment, all parents should play safe and try to apply at least 2 DSS schools. The cost is only HKD30 each. You can treat it as a rehearsal for knocking doors.
Another point is all DSS schools in Shatin are new schools. All the students are in the similar age. No bully. Easy management. Less people in the campus.

其實好簡單就係我個小朋友係band1尾band2頭,如果係統一派位好大機會唔知派左去邊,我有兩個朋友都係咁,一個幾經辛苦先叩到門,一 個就無咁好彩,派得差都要照讀住先,邊讀邊轉,佢地都勸我一定要做足準備,唔好等抽獎.嗰幾日搵學校既日子好難忘記.
至於簡培基,自己都做晒資料搜集,去過學校參觀,滿意附近環境,亦認同校長既教學理念先選擇的.
