小兒今年就讀小五，生性活潑外相，不拘泥于傳統學校的教學方式。 我和先生希望他完成小學學業后，轉入國際學校就讀中學。

請問各位：
小兒讀書成績一般且無其他國籍。以此條件，目前九龍區內有否適閤的國際學校？ 入讀條件如何？ 是否須要提早申請?  希望有經驗的父母可以囬復，謝謝！

Hi Rebecca,

My sons have not reached P5 yet, still in Kinder. I just you act now. No doubt traditional and international has gap particular the English proficiency. Try to find one for P6 ASAP.

Some of my choices in KLN + NT.

1) CAIS
2) ICS
3) also try Kingston
4) Rennissan (not sure the spelling, in Ma On Shan)
5) NIS in Tai Po, has higher chance to get in and it is indeed a good school.

I meant to act now, if they allow you to join, join now even in the middle of the term. If Kingston offered then go.

It is difficult to say easy or hard, you should try all or call them directly and talk to the headmaster of your will and see how they can help you. CAIS, Ranessain or ICS are equal in me.

Go to yahoo.com.hk and type "international school" and click search to return those int school web sites of HK, have everything you want.

Agreed, I also applied Ren for my son but ESF found I applied the SJS too, so I finally declare SJS as my 1st choice.

From other parents comments, I believe Renaissance indeed a good school.

Also heard from ESF parents that they have to choose either ESF or Renaissance.  In the past, we can apply for both at the same time.  Maybe due to very tight spaces in ESF Year 1,2 and Year 7.

Yes, I am interested in Ren as well, just wondering how is the interview and how easy or hard to get in the school two years later.

No doubt it affects a little bit lah.

The condition liked.

Select Ren as the 1st:
1) ESF said, I don't know if it is true hah. Guarantee you have earlier interview in Ren, if Ren offers you interview, ESF stop doing anything.
2) if you fail the Ren interview, ESF will auto initiate interview process again without further application.
3) if Ren offers you a place but you reject it, ESF won't offer you interview.

Select SJS as the 1st:
1) if SJS failed to give you the interview within a reasonably timeframe (I don't know the gap), Ren might give you an interview providing they still have rooms.
2) if you failed or rejected the SJS interview, Ren might give you an interview providing they still have rooms.
3) if you accept SJS offer then nothing to do in Ren.

May be you have your own reason to join 2 years later. But I still suggest you to act now. If Ren offers you P5 or later P6 immediately then Y not to take it.

oh, I can't act right now.  my son is studying in Ma Tau Chung P.M now, that is a very good primay school, and he has twins sister are in K2 right now.  for this reason, I have to wait until he has finished P.6 in that school, my twins daughter can also get in Ma Tau Chung as my wish.

If your kids' school near Ma Tau Chung then think about CAIS, it is walking distance in Ma Tau Chung district and it has plenty of good comments from other parents. Yew Chung is also a good one, and so are those in Kowloon Tong.

ICS will move to Shek Mun, where in between Shatin and Ma On Shan, if you are thinking Ren then do think about ICS too.

Equip your kids, practice whenever, wherever you possibly could before the interview. as int P1 is of most competitive to get in.

Local students joining IS at Year 7 is quite difficult as the entrance test requirement is high.  Yew Chung may be easier than ESF, Ren, CAIS or ICS.

Just have called Yew Chung, the school fee is about HK$130,000 per year, that is tooooooo high for me la, I have 3 kids totally, can't afford that much, 555~~~
