the kid has to interview for admission for ESF primary by English.  As I know no need for interview for ESF Kindergarten.
I am also seeking more information from other mommy.

I am very interest in ESF Tsing Yi as I want my daughter can study ESF at Primary 1.
But I concern the following points:
1) The location of Tsing Yi is far away from Home, which about 40 minutes by  school bus.

2) The admission requirement state: Within each category priority will be given to students who:
i)have brothers or sisters already attending the school
ii)are attending an ESF Educational Services kindergarten (for Y1 only)
iii)are former students returning from a period overseas
iv)have a parent who is a full time employee of the ESF
v)are the children of former students of the school.
Thus, there will be a better chance for ESF kinder.

3) If my daughter cannot sucessfull entry the ESF, what should I do? She will be very difficult to adopt the local school.

4) Can the student learn good English during playing?

Are the teachers in ESF Tsing Yi care about the kids? The School seems a bit small, does the children have enough places to play around?

As you said, seems that the kids won't be able to learn English, Chinese and Maths in ESFTY.  So what can the kids learn at school?  Just playing for 3 years?

I absolutely agree with you view. That's all what I'm going to advice as well.
My cousin's son is studying at ESFTY, but he has only fair English since his parents are not good in English (how's not good? Hummmm...very limited English indeed. Like, "what time is it?" "Give Mummy please" such and such). Only very basic English and no grammer and no tenses.
His class teacher demanded him to have English tutor in spare time as preparation to get a seat at ESF Primary. Teacher also reported to parents that he doesnt speak English in class since these 2 years...So we can see his "crises" and hard time.
His parents of course nervous about it but its not so surprised us.....as we thought it's a resonable "result".

So, please make sure you'll have a good English enviroment for kids and parents can speak good or fluent English at very least, otherwise please consider other schools...

I heard that around 50% of the students were not accepted by ESF Primary in the past years because of poor English abilities, although the graduates have priorities.  I don't know whether the Kinder is good or not.  Parents must try their best to help their children, sending them to a good kinder doesn't mean every thing will become alright.

Dear All:

I would like to seek for your opinions.  I do not want to send my kid to a very very far away international kinder.  Apart from ESFTY which is just within walkable distance, what choices can I have?

Be honesty that all depends on YOUR family's English ability/standard, if you choose ESFTY. That;s true!!

I have also heard from parents on one day that, the principal of Primary has reminded all parents that schools are not teaching English but using English at school. So parents have to make sure their kids' English is good enough to study there.
