諧音縮寫入文 會考生失分
受廣告「創作」ICQ影響

【明報專訊】廣告標語「諧音字」及ICQ縮寫語言氾濫下，對學生中英文水平難免有負面影響。考試及評核局公布2005年會考報告指出，會考生在廣告「自創」諧音及ICQ式簡單語言的耳濡目染下，不自覺在中、英文考試中，寫上錯別字及不恰當用語，因而失分。

據考評局的會考中國語文考試報告中指出，除了學生粗心大意外，近日廣告「自創」不少「同音假借新詞」，例如果仁廣告用上「人見『仁』（人）愛」，以及ICQ式語言多以簡單字代替原有寫法的習慣，均令考生對中文字形意義三者的認識日趨薄弱。英文科會考報告亦指出，考生寫作受ICQ的縮寫影響，慣用BTW等用語，就算寫作公函亦會用上by the way等不恰當用語，考生因此被扣分。

電腦普及 學生串字能力弱

有任教會考班的英文教師同意，學生平日不論電郵還是ICQ，都用上大量英文省略寫法，最普遍是以「U」代替「you」。她認為，習慣成自然難免對學生有負面影響，因此每次作文，都千叮萬囑學生要配合寫作要求，不應亂用省略寫法。

她說，電腦普及後，學生的串字能力變弱，會考生簡單如family都會串錯，「個樣差不多就算」，懷疑是電腦打字有自動改正功能，令學生不再注意英文單詞的正確串法。

I think we shall not blame totally on the media. Young people nowadays cannot read, cannot write and cannot speak well. They do not want to spend time on learning English. At the same time, they do not master Chinese well. This is really sad.
They don't read Chinese literature, English literature and classics. They can't even write with their hands... they can only type. Their handwritings are nasty. The young generation will have communication problems very soon.

政府都有責任，將來中國語文科取消範文，勢必另中文程度下降，正所謂「熟讀唐詩三百首,不會吟時也會偷。」古人學中文就是從先聖先賢中學習。
另外記得沙士期間，陳馮富珍上鏡時常把「徵狀」說成「象徵」，但政府新聞處並無提醒及更改。
