I guess that ICQM may not conduct further large scale interview since my son is also the second batch of candidates.  I have heard that the school begain recruitment very early every year.  Anyway, the interview is in group format and there are around 5-6 kids in a group.  they are being called to a classroom where they were asked to sing, to write some words, both in chinese and english, and to listen to some music and make some drawings.  Parents were led to upstairs classrooms for interview.   Since the school requests parents to pay outstanding amount of school fee for the 1st month$2950 by mid December this year, I believe that some parents who have made the reservation just in case may drop out eventually, I guess if you want to try your luck, you can send out letter to the school for chance of separate interview.

What will you choose between Shatin Tai Wai Pui Kui College and 聖瑪加利,Any suggestion?
Pui Kui is more on Mandarin, and 聖瑪加利 more on English, I believe.
But it seems it's more difficult to get in Pui Kui than 聖瑪加利 even 聖瑪加利 only have two P1 in 2006.

Any one have any advise?

I think you may also consider your residential location, otherwise you child would be very tired if he/she has to apend a lot of tim in the school bus, or you may move th the close by area but it may impact your family life.
1. If your live around Shatin/Man On Shan --> Pui Kiu
2. If your live around West Kowloon/Kowloom  ->  聖瑪加利

I believe that as our government has invested a lot of money for DSS schools, so thie expected standard from these sxhools should not be too bad, and I supposed these  2 schools would also focus Mandarin and English. The only difference that 聖瑪加利 sounds more like an English school and Pui Kui  sounds more like a Chinese school

One more point, as Pui Kiu may got support from Chinese Government as well, I heard that the PK's extra-circular activities are very reasonable, say they only charge $100 for 4 swimming lessons (correct me if I am wrong).

Another point about Pui Kiu, one of my frineds graduated from Pui Kiu ages ago, the school was very helpful and tried their best to find a job for their graduates to work in a China related firm, such as BOC.. but not sure whther it is the case or not nowaday.

Agreed with abw1104.  I think most DSS is not bad, so parents should consider the residential location first.

Actually, I also prefer Pui Kui. The only worry is the English standard. Hope Pui Kui will realize the importance of English and may change the teaching lanuage of Maths to English.

As I heard fm last interview,since Govt only subsidy 2
classes for each grade ,that's why they declared 2 classes (abt  80 seats), but they will have the 2 classes split into 3 groups for teaching ( small group studying),so actually there's abt 26  pupils per groups.

The principal told me during the open day that, in Grade 3, the 3 groups will go back to 2 classes, therefore, there will be about 40 pupils in a class starting from Grade 3.

Dose that mean from g3 to p6 that there are 40 students in a class together teached by a teacher?
