I just started two lessons.  My girl (4.5yrs) just learnt 4 months.  I think, I need to know how to play piano, so that I can help her to practise at home.  I also interested to learn it.

Do you think it is a bit embrassing to learn when I am so old (over 40).  My daughter's piano school are all kids.

I'm also over 30, I find the private one, and my girl is at Parsons.  I also ask the same thing to my teacher and she said "no need embrassing".  Nowadays, most of the parents also learn it because of their children.  Even in Parsons, they also ask me to take the lessons with my daughter, they also need you to know what they have learnt and help her to practice.  Never mind, just try!!!

我想你也毋須覺得尷尬，我聽仔仔的鋼琴老師講，佢都曾經教過一個男學生，年紀大約35-40，仲係學校的訓導主任添，佢都唔會覺得尷尬，而且老師的學生中，亦有不少是工餘為興趣而學琴的人仕呢！

I am not parent, but i started learning piano 2 months ago.

As a adult beginner, I felt a bit embarrassing at the very beginning but now i think i am just one of the student. I enjoy playing piano and I keep practise it everyday. I think, if I dont start now, I will be much regret by the day I die. It will never be too late, right?!

(唔好後生過自己, 好多小朋友已經考左8級去教人), 咁樣會好d
學琴真係要花好多時間去練架, 不過係自己興趣就ok囉

我有個朋友,都三十幾歲,用左3年時間第一年考5級,第3年考7級,仲要學埋8級樂理,佢唔係特別聰明,不過佢真係好比心機,日日放工後彈幾個鐘先有咁既成績.而家佢仲準備考8級添.

其實成人學琴好普遍, 唔需要覺得有問題, 最緊要自己學得開心!

其實成人學琴真係好普遍, 如果你布小朋友剛學琴, 你可以問老師會否比你一齊係小朋友旁邊聽, 出面有d琴行可以, 不過要加費用, 我會比一位家長陪小朋友一起上堂一段時間 (家長吸收比較快, 返屋企可作指導, 但若小朋友太依賴, 家長最好不要一齊上, 否則家長不在, 小朋友就唔識彈 ) 另外出面有中心有成人班際學琴, 如果唔知自己有無興趣, 可試呢d 課程, 費用唔貴, 3個月1千都唔使, 我有d學生就係因小朋友學琴, 自己又想有d了解, 所以報讀, 我見佢

I started to play piano in a parent-kid piano course.  Afterwards, my kid has private tutorials.  

While playing piano has been my dream since childhood (could not afford), I guess I am too old to go through the exams and I don't like to play the child songs.  Instead, I went to Music Farm for a quick fix.  They have an adult course which basically teaches how to play chords on pop songs.  After 2 or 3 months, I can now play 印象，漣漪，但願人長久 etc.  Already very happy!

只要有興趣, 便去學吧, 我女的綱琴老師的學生, 都有好多係學生的家長, 小朋友學學行, 媽咪都學埋, 有個學生係消防員呀,
