Re: 中一面試DGS/MCS討論
Academic standard of DGS and MCS are both as high as each other, without counting the no. of 10A in HKCEE since MCS students are not allowed to take 10 subjects.
But as far as i know, it's harder to get into F.1 MCS by interview than DGS, because
1. DGS has more classes than DGJS. They have enough room to take in students with other talents despite fair academic result.
2. MCS has equivalent no. of classes as its primary school, and places are less for interview, but those who get into MCS via this route probably has excellent academic result.
i personally know some MCS P.6 with 'above average result' in their school (not even top 5) who succeeded in DGS interview, but of course they stayed back in MCS.
and vice versa, some DGJS went to MCS for interview as well.
Interesting enough both DGJS and MCS have students interviewed at SPCC and succeeded too (but nobody changed school).
it's quite common among the elite schools that they tried out the interviews of others.
But i think if your daughter has an excellent skill in any kind of activities, DGS will consider more seriously even the academic result is only 'so-so'.
Actually SPCC attracted a lot more students for interview than both of these girls schools.
I don't know about the teaching standard of these elite schools actually, but i believe that quality of students themselves play a big role. |
