It is probably the better choice to aim for majority/full boarding schools given the cost of an education abroad.

Exam results are not so much dependent on the school as it is on the student's individual motivation and capabilities, even though the school does have an influence, e.g., by how motivated the students around you are then affects your own motivation. But once above a certain level of academic prowess of public/fee-paying schools, you are unlikely to find those factors hugely influential.


With a <10% boarding rate at Whitgift, I doubt 貴公子 will be able to gain the most valuable aspects of an education abroad - the social aptitude and soft skills, since he will likely be stuck in his own room revising after school with almost everybody else home.

小兒讀緊Yr 9 weekly boarding, 好開心，佢今年9 月才入讀，宿生係少，聽佢d 宿友講weekend 係幾悶，因為不是個個星期有活動，試過一次參觀球場。所以睇吓你想要咩，充實的寄宿生活未必比到你，但我對呢間男校滿意，也是我首選的

謝謝你的回覆。請問學校周邊有冇安全問題？成日聽到Croydon 區會雜亂啲。同埋你當初首選呢間學校係有邊啲考量？入讀呢間男校嘅男仔大嘅喺邊種類型呢？佢哋多數係想返香港讀大學定係英國升學呢？

West Croydon 真係雜，好多黑人，事先聲明我並不是種族歧視。學校在south croydon 相對安全dd,住宅區多，west croydon 較多商業大廈，多不同人種的人工作。10月學校鄭重聲名叫學生唔好去west, 如果一定要去就放學夾同學一起，因為之前好多搶劫案，有次我星期五接放學嘅時候，兩架警車巡邏。特別冬天他們放學已經天黑就比較危險。老實講，我首選男校，再睇成績，同埋要在我落腳區範圍不遠。呢間近幾年好多國內人和香港人喜愛，呢幾年收了好多。有d 人介意，我自己又不會介意，唔一定全部外國人才可練到英文，睇小朋友自己性格，現在仔又同意大利人、俄羅斯人等唔同國籍一起玩，小朋友開心便是。上星期夜晚學校也落本放煙花，宿友很興奮。
他們好多唔同類型，有讀書型、運動型、音樂型、曳型等，我同他們香港人師兄傾過計，他們今年A level 了，他們仍想繼續在英國讀大學。^^
