Abingdon vs. Whitgift

我大仔剛收到Abingdon day place offer, 要兩星期回覆. 請問有冇Abingdon既用家，分享這間學校好與壞? 係咪好嚴好demanding?

原本priority 係Whitgift (12月頭先出offer), 因為重有個細佬, 佢成績好, 想去Sutton 摶下考grammar schools. 但若果去Abington, 就連搏grammar school個機會都冇. 依家兩難, 好難取捨! 求意見(emoji)

The nearest one should be Reading School. My eldest went there a few years ago and he did have classmates from Oxford. May be you can check the catchment area in the school website
One more thing to share. Once the kid attended an independent school they’re reluctant to change to a state school, the case with my youngest.

Re Abingdon, a relative went there 20 years ago. He loved it.

Abingdon reputation 好好，但係你而家要就埋細佬，咁whitgift機會有幾大呢？

預備充足嘅話，考grammar 唔太困難嘅

如果你唔係經agent，deposit應該只係一兩千鎊

whitgift同abingdon成績表面上差唔多，但實際前者應該高一線，如果我係你，abingdon個deposit盡拖，如果真係要俾，到時whitgift又收，個deposit我會放棄，如果細仔真係入到grammar，7年慳咗學費已經好抵，另外，唔知你哋以後工作點打算，sutton入central london方便多好好好多

真心想請教下，從兩間學校的官網資料，2023年 AL A*/A 百分比是 Abingdon 稍高於 Whitgift。想問問，單看 AL 成績是不夠全面，另有其他地方我看漏了，對嗎？
