本身讀ESF 就係諗住校區跟BHS Island school 咁讀上去
現在改無校區，攪到仲要諗邊間，又怕俾佢唔知掟去邊 ...

ESF就係呢個唔好處，永遠做唔到真一條龍，成日升小都咁困擾，不過起碼知道會實有位。

Looking at the time frame for ESF K-primary transition (1-15/9) and central application for outsiders (1-30/9), it appears that ESF can actually compare the choices in both pools  and process the whole thing together i.e. not like they must first assign all ESF Ks according to their preference before start looking at central applications. And it appears that scrapping the school zone indeed gives more flexibility to ESF in allocating the places according to their own agenda e.g. passport, student-mix, siblings and address.

Normally most of the parents can get the 1st / 2nd preferences according to the past experience. Guessing will there any difference in this year.

True. Would be interested to see how they implement the new policy this year, for instance, if there are ESF K without priority putting KJS/SJS as 1st choice but not getting the place, while outsiders with priority got it instead.

i think most likely will be like that. i'm curious that some of the parents with FP optioned for RC as first choice, but I think they will be allocated to foundation schools.....

但去到最後又有拎住外國護照既non-kinder人有SJS/KJS offer，所以會唔會留起左啲位俾街外人

That's why I said 理論上 as according to their official announced priority, ESK K has higher priority than Non-K with passport. And they officially should not reserve seats for outsiders if there are Ks selecting that particular primary school. Would be very interested to see how they operate this through-trained + no-zone policy this year as the first year.
They do have disclaimer on the form saying "ESF reserves the right to redirect students based on the majority of transferring cohorts in a kindergarten should there be overcapacity at any of the primary school."
