If you are non-local, should be easy to look for a place. Good luck!

A lot of ‘locals’ have foreign passport anyway and esf has always had alot of ‘locals’ (perhaps with foreign passports) as it’s great value for money.

佢係私立學校,當然要收學費來經營啦。話曬佢要靠學為生,外面已經學生少,少外藉咪收local.

但其實收 local有一個重要啲嘅原因就係幫手追成績, 如果成績差連local家庭都唔會想入

That’s why I am saying the vibe will be changed
As I know many of friends of mine who choose to study in esf or other international are not ( chasing the academic result ) lol
If we want to do that , why don’t just apply the local school instead ?

I am not talking about that kind of (locals)
Coz those parents also from overseas or studied overseas before
They won’t be that academic oriented
( in kindergarten stage )
Anyways I’m not the one who change the policy, so I just need to deal with
Or get used to it

For those local parents who changed to IS in the middle, I think most of them are not academic result-oriented... for if they were, they would have stayed in local schools...
Within ESF, there are certain campus that are more academically oriented and some more ECA oriented. If your kid can go to Hillside, he/she can pretty much choose any primary school in HK Island and choose the one that is less academic oriented.

You can refer to the youtube I posted... My kid is not in ESF so I do not have any particular insight but what the host says is consistent with what I gathered from friends too. The ones in HK Island are more relaxed while Shatin College is quite academic focused. But best is to get the "vibes" of the school from open day and ask the teachers in person..

I guess I don’t have to think about that in this early stage
Also I know the esf u talk about are mainly in Kowloon side or new territories
If I live in Kowloon I don’t think  I will apply  those schools for my girl ( of coz they may not offer me too) I know they are way too much popular than hk side esf

Anyways I’m just trying to reply to the one who said/think esf need local students to push up the academic result is quite absurd to me  .

IS 係可保證唔駛考DSE.. local school點都有一批係要考DSE..同埋科中文殺傷力好強。

Honestly there is no need to worry about that for K1... and the HK Island schools are generally less academic-oriented anyways...

Well there are many different reasons why local family wants to study in IS...But I think there is no need to be concerned why local parents choose IS for their kids, in the end what matters is whether your own kid is happy at the school and can go to a decent university when they grow up.

Hahaha. She’s basically saying she chose esf so her kids can grow up/be surrounded by non local people - doesn’t want to hang out with the locals (despite being a local herself - that’s my guess).
You’ve been way too nice and generous in your responses to someone who has discriminatory undertones in their posts towards local hk people (and I don’t know whether it’s better or worse to be discriminatory against your own kind).
