我孩子嚟緊九月才喺英國讀yr12 私校，未知適應如何，你提及冇考igcse 搵唔到local school 收，你有冇直接email 問返嗰邊local school 是否一定要有igcse 來評核yr 12 是否取錄？我有朋友用bno 同女兒去當地讀local school yr12, 佢都冇igcse 成績，佢女都係讀香港傳統中學冇考igcse 的，佢最後都有local school 收喎，無問題呀。或者你email 心儀學校問問啦。

錄取我孩子的私校亦沒有要求我們入讀佢哋yr12 課程前在香港考igcse，學校主要睇成績表+佢哋自己學校的入學試+interview 來評核取錄否。

真係間間要求都可能唔同，同一間大學唔同科都有可能要求唔同。
我求其䁽下ICL要求，佢話考IB English A, Lang & Lit, 無論SL/HL grade 4就叫達標。如果考 English B, 就SL要grade 6, HL要grade 5。

Oh.  My kid will study 6 form after taking igcse here.   So it is better for him to take the IELTS when he has time ?

I think most UK universities might require ielts, although I'm not absolutely certain ALL of them require it (for ALL subjects). If it's not too much trouble, you may want to ask your child to take it anyway so he/she has it in hand when applying. I understand ielts results are valid for 2 years so if he/she takes it just before they go to sixth form, it should be valid for their university application. Or they could choose to take it during lower sixth.

私校可不用 (I)GCSE
官校就多數要 GCSE

你孩子的boarding school 有冇負責EAL 的department, 如果有，佢哋會有support 俾學生準備IELTS 個試，唔使擔心，你了解一下學校有冇support 先。

I am thinking the same.  May ask if my kid want to take it after igcse or next year.....  Thanks for the advice.

Thanks for the suggest.  I will check with the school as well and see what they say.

最後都揾唔到local school, 要讀私校先有位，但因為佢爸媽只揾到較低工資嘅工作，所以依家比較吃力
