This is a good point. Unless they have a ‘better’ offer on hand, then you wouldn’t reject it. And I don’t think there are many other international schools that are mass intake this year that would be ‘better’ than CDNIS (depends what you’re looking for of course) and other schools may not have given out offers yet so you would still accept the offer and pay the deposit for CDNIS first until other offers come out (so call waiting might happen later).
In terms of mass intake year/first year of schooling, I can think of the following schools that have the equivalent of ey1 - esf, isf, fis, gsis, Harrow, nord anglia. I would think some people might favour Harrow, gsis and isf over cdnis (again depends what you want since it’s different cirriculum and cdnis seems to have a better Chinese offering than gsis/harrow and isf isn’t really an international school). So maybe when those offers come out, they might drop their cdnis offer. Otherwise don’t think one would give up cdnis for the other schools I’ve listed unless they applied for everything and not knowing what they really want (completely different syllabus and offering)
