For y7 applications, would like to know if normally not everyone will have the chance for interviews? Is it by chance?

Have you received acknowledgement email? it mentions ‘based on the number of expected Year 7 vacancies, applicants are invited to attend an assessment at the offering ESF secondary school. Applicants selected for the 1st round assessment will receive an email invitation from the respective secondary school Admissions Offices in the upcoming weeks.
As we have limited spaces and all ESF secondary schools are oversubscribed from central applications, those not offered an opportunity for 1st round assessment will remain on the 1st Preference School’s waiting list for future opportunities.‘

Because some other schools would also mention not all applicants will have interview but it turns out they offer interviews to most, if not all, applicants. I know that for y1 application, esf does not offer interview to all applicants but based on random number order. Just wonder if y7 is the same. As I suppose y7 will focus more on assessment results?

I also have the same view. Seems the chance to get assessment for y7 is high.

First round is an English Reading Comprehension and an English Composition, it takes 80 mins
