ESF vs FIS vs Invictus

有興趣呢三間, ESF 係waiting list , Invictus 11月先有Interview, FIS 仲考慮緊因為要一星期幾堂學法文, 怕中文追唔上. 有冇comment ?

Invictus 又好似易啲, 如果有offer, 之後再睇下可唔可以轉去ESF.

FIS 意思係仲考慮緊要唔要 offer?

Invictus同前面果兩間唔同level,如果ESF/FIS有offer，當然選這兩間

If your have concern about the Chinese level, FIS might not be your choicce.
FIS International Stream has 4 French lessons per week since Reception (and 1 Chinese lesson per week if I am not mistaken). Chinese is more or less a third language in the school.

Yes, FIS only have 1 chinese class per week. But you can take ECA which have 2 extra chinese classes per week. Still I dont think it will be enough if you compare to local school.

we changed from ESF to FIS.   my kid loves his school life so so so much.   we all have no regrets in changing.
I dun need my kid to study Chinese at school anyway, as we have arranged Chinese class outside.

Frankly even for ESF , local families will still rely on outside tuitions to maintain the Chinese level, hence I won’t choose between ESF vs FIS solely based on the Chinese curriculum.
My kid has no Chinese lesson from Y1-3 at her school so we just took outside lessons, it happens that her Chinese level ends up just similar to those from ESF at the same grade (Both are not strong anyway ).

I would not compare the Chinese Level of IS and Local School in the first place.
If someone really want a non-local curriculum but somehow maintain an "acceptable" level of Chinese, PIS such as ISF and VSA would be their choices, but definitely not IS.

Parents might wanna look into private lessons outside school for Chinese.

May I ask when did your son switch from ESF to FIS? And why did you make the switch?

we finished ESF k1, and then withdrew during the summer holiday. did joined two weeks with ESF K2 but just to kill time before term started with FIS.
We just think FIS is better suit for our family and our kid. we don't have any bad feelings about ESF.

FIS幼稚園用家，對學校非常滿意。至於中文，目前一禮拜一堂固定，再加學校ECA有一禮拜兩堂小班（一對五），仲可以約老師一對一。

Is the quality of Chinese ECA in FIS good? Will students be grouped in different level?

請問點樣可以約老師一對一？另外再約時間上堂？

如果好在意中文程度，入FIS 就要有心理準備要自己出面私補keep 住個中文水平，FIS 中文程度係唔能夠滿足香港家長的，FIS international stream, second language 係法文，中文排第三，你當係興班咁睇會好過d

如果淨係靠學校，一禮拜一堂學校中文幾乎係興趣班，反而學校ECA兩堂教的幾深下，自己再加兩堂一對一跟本地或者國內教材上堂就可以啦。

學語言最緊要靠興趣。我小朋友非常喜歡上學校中文ECA堂，再加上屋企有廣東話同普通話語境，不擔心中文水平。

小朋友而家按程度分到中文母語班，是一對五上課（用普通話）。主要是家中說普通話的小朋友和本地普通話水平較高的小朋友。上課教材會提供簡體字和繁體字。就我本人而言感覺滿意，老師有耐心也有經驗，小朋友上課投入，寫字的練習也在課堂主動完成。

學校ECA两堂再加自己两堂即一星期四堂，花了很多課餘時間在中文，机會成本下怕不怕其他活動會玩少了？
時間有限又不想太忙有違當初選國際學校的原则，但小朋友又太多興趣，有時真是很難選擇。
