如果過份跟從老師或者mentor 的方向，我會反問她自己，是她的passion，抑或老師的 pet project or topics. 如果是自己的，照計會砌幾年，或者做到有成果，較少半途而費。

會唔會我誤解你的意思？

Self esteem這塊，我覺得這些年頭大家非常專注於競爭，競爭力。因此有一點迷失。

競爭力係需要有，但係唔 ...

我哋较 old school，除了部分业绩要留意，同时Boundaries. Self esteem etc 这些 oldies 都会重视。

我今日好兴奋，因为上海 locked down 几个月，好多deadlocks ，到今日先维修好部MacBook ，正常3日，现在4个星期。乜都做唔到！

Not all passions are equal.Some passions are inherently shorter term.Some very long time.

兩種我也見過。Short term 的，可能係老師改變的關係，又或者原來熱誠之火根本就唔係太旺盛。其一例子是藝術科，lB後便了結。真正熱誠嘅活動會唔會太多。

Long term 例子，如辯論就係比較旺盛嘅興趣。由高中唔肯參加學校辯論活動，就係因為唔鍾意個老師，我就俾佢參加外面活動中心嘅辯論活動，得到一個好mentor，睇得出亞女嘅能力所在，對佢嘅信任，燃點左佢嘅熱誠。教咗兩年之後走咗，但阿女繼續，更由辯論員發展為收錢為辯論比賽做評判，再到大學辯論學會主席，考完final立即同新拍檔參加國外辯論比賽，已經作為別人的 mentor.

我唔知我嗰個係咪讓賽，但pattern 差不多。她初中成績平平無奇， BBCC咁，好少有A。老師同我講，佢份測驗攞到五六十分好似好開心咁

我沒有干預。

到IGCSE，考試出來居然一個B或者C都冇。

可能定義的問題。

其實不在乎長短，在乎當下係咪有股Burning desire 做好一件事。

打工一樣，有得選擇我都選擇唔使返工做嘢，但既然要返工肩負起責任，就一定要有適當的熱誠同埋衝勁去做好一件事。退咗休我會唔會選擇繼續做，唔會啦。

唔知好嬲定好笑，學校中四開始按選科及成績分班，所以中三就開始叫他注意佔20% 嘅SBA，佢唯唯諾諾咁話知道。 OK, 勉勉強強入到嗰班。中四又叫佢繼續注意SBA，外國大學會睇中四中五成績，最終成績又係差唔多。（中四上學期家長日老師話佢SBA分數出咗後曾懷疑佢唔適合讀呢班，不過期考後（佔80%）又拉返上去）。

中四下學期開始終於好啲，問下佢，佢話因為唔可以Hea了，先知道佢原來一路以來自己規劃自己嘅排位。問下佢可唔可以上前列？唔得！中，通夠就算，唔會花時間，冇呢兩科上唔到前列咁話。

阿女有一個習慣，就係到最重要關頭，佢會好專注發揮小宇宙。她們有她們的計算。經常在成功和失敗的邊緣徘徊，做家長只好訓練出一個大心臟。

睇左咁耐，人原來有唔同經歷，係會變的。

近兩年父母雙繼離去，阿媽仲係好突然果隻。今個月內有兩個中學同學亦係英年早逝。其實細女升中前大病一場，嚇到我回魂之後已唔再諗乜成就乜火花乜貢獻，我衹求兩個人健康同開心，還原番陀佢地之時最基本要求就算。我無要求，係佢地要對自己有要求先啱。初小時同佢地講，書你係為自己讀，唔係為我讀，比賽係你自己既榮耀，唔係我，到十八歲時，我同佢講，你既人生我交番俾你，要為自己既决定同行為負責，我唯一要求係做個responsible adult.
