ESF Hillside K1 PM offer v.s VIC AM session

My daughter just received the PM offer from Hillside (with debenture priority) and I am considering to take the offer or not as I am living in Eastern District and my girl needs to take school bus to the school everyday and may not able to take afternoon sleep.

For information, my girl currently is studying in VIC nursery AM session and now only 5 mins walking distance to school. I am thinking to apply other IS or apply nomination right of ESF year 1 again if I eventually decline the offer.

I want to see if anyone can share the schedule of Hillside PM session and any advice. Thanks in advance for your comments.

My son is in PM class.  School ends at 4p and school bus takes about 30-40 minutes (traffic jam).  At first we let him nap till 7p but then he'd stay up so late at night, so we dropped nap and let him sleep earlier at night instead.


Many kids just nap on the school bus.

Did you try to ask the school to let you waiting AM session when you received the offer? I want to see if there is any possibility to change to AM session.

If you eventually aiming for ESF for G1, you should take ESF offer.

As now they are through trained school, I think it is very difficult to get in G1. There might be chance you can’t get in G1

Kid doesnt need asmuch nap time when they grow up. Also i heard that nomination right for primary is not as easy to buy as debenture for K, as you will have to compete with lot more people wanting to join ESF primary, and dont forget about a lot of seats are reserved for ESF K student.

I will vote for going ESF if you eventually will still want to join ESF Primary.

If you target ESF primary you should take hillside now, as this is the most effortless way and I can’t see any reason not to accept it.
Concerning nap she will adjust gradually and move the nap to after school (if she still needs), going  to bed later at night and waking up later in the morning. By K2 a lot will have dropped the nap.

Thanks. How about if I target GSIS and CIS? Actually, Victoria is good school too but I just afraid my girl’ English level is not good enough if she continues to study in Victoria.

Yes I accepted it. We are planning to transfer to another school later too but just in case she cannot get an offer later on, staying in ESF is also good.

Vic is good, but its not an international school afterall. Have to consider that worst case there is no preferred IS offer next year, then you will be even more worried.到時就兩頭唔到岸 la.

再者，8月時都唔知係咪真係完全可以開返學，到時好大可能仲係好似依家咁，返一陣停好耐，到時大把覺瞓...如果你冇轉到，就白白為左瞓晏覺就放棄左個機會喇。

I faced the same decision last year for my elder kid. I chose Hillside at the end. Cannot reject as ESF kindy is offering through train now. also i have a younger kid who will be able to enjoy sibling priority later on.

we gave up CB Vic for it...
