For standard F.6 admission purpose:
Choose the 6 best subjects and add the marks together.  Chinese and English are not given special status.  They are counted if they are one of the 6 best.  They are not counted if not among the 6 best, obviously.

Some schools may use other pointing systems for F.6 admissions.  For example, a school may choose to increase the weighting of language subjects and maths, mutiplying the points of Eng and Chin by 2 or 3.  Some other schools may weigh in the results of F.5 mock exams, or may require passes in all subjects.

However, if you want to study at F.6, you should get a pass at Chinese and English.
