state school係以catchment area 派位，你是否已有英國住址證明？如有，可上網check local authority的報名資料。

如果用EU passport而不是UK passport的話，你應該小心，因為脫歐風險，今天可以，脫歐後情況可能會影響你。

Yes, state school is free for anybody holding a EU passport.You would need to apply the local state comprehensive school in your local catchment area.
For ranking, please visit Government league table https://www.gov.uk/school-performance-tables
Alternatively, you can check 'Ofsted Report' for the school you interest in which shows the school strengths and weaknesses
