Well, I guess when the poster said 普通 what she really mean is “no admission priority”, referring to those who doesn’t have a sibling currently studying at HKIS, those who are not debenture holders nor children of exiting staff.
As I learnt from the school tour, HKIS receives around 400 applications for 160 R1 seats, half of the seats go to those with sibling priority, 10-20% seats go to those with debenture. Remaining % are those without any priority.
P.S. so..... if you are a janitor or cleaner at HKIS, your children will have higher admission priority than others :)
R1 and G1 have the highest competition, but for other grades, especially higher grades, it’s lot easier to get in, as many expats left HK with their families after contract ends or the kids switch to other schools in local or overseas.
