How your application is considered

We first verify that you meet the University’s general admission requirements. These are basic requirements that all candidates must meet to be eligible for University of Toronto admission consideration. The general requirements, including our English language requirements, are outlined by educational jurisdiction in the Requirements section.

Secondly, we assess whether you meet program-specific requirements for your intended area of study.  Do you have the necessary subject pre-requisites and have you completed any required personal statement, supplementary application or audition?

The University of Toronto does not have the capacity to admit all applicants who meet the minimum general and program-specific requirements. We seek to admit the best possible students on the basis of academic performance and potential, and will select students for admission based on competitive strength.

The emphasis of our final assessment will be placed on the results of your most recent two years of study, including your marks in prerequisite courses, and on the strength of your supplemental information (personal statement, profile, etc) where this is required. However, we may also consider other aspects of your complete academic record including, but not limited to: consistency; where and when courses were completed; and the number of times any courses have been attempted.

When admission decisions are made, and alternate offers     

You will receive a decision from all of the University of Toronto faculties you selected. Those who are not admitted to their selected program(s) may be considered for alternate programs and campuses, space permitting.  Admission decisions are released between mid-December and late May.

It is always wise to apply and submit required documentation well in advance of deadlines in order to maximize your opportunities for admission consideration.

因為報2023年英國大學 UCAS 依家可以 create account https://www.ucas.com/dashboard, 而我最近係度諗緊自己報定係俾 agent 報. 但我又擔心 agent 跟得唔足及唔得閒覆我及我好難聯絡到 agent (因為我幾次問野都要預約幾點才會覆我, 每次要預約半日才覆到電話俾我).

這裏有一些問題我都想知道。

一般情況下，UCLA 開account 應該是學生自己做。然後 學生比個buzzword 比學校，從而學校可以link 入去學生的 UCLA account。 學生填了會準備考的公開試後，成績會選擇pending。然後，學校就可以比predicted grades （而學生係看不到的）了。另外，學校亦可以出 reference。

假如學生無論DSE/iAL都未考，而又不想學校參與，邊個輸入predicted grades? 假如agent可以，我會看到agent在中間的價值。假如不可以，爲何要找agent 開account?

當然，假如你OSSD已經有成績就另作別論，大學就可能根據你已有的成績，直接出unconditional offer了。

而我係 Path 2 Student (Individual) 身份報名, 佢裏面有得俾你選: 1) Add buzzword 2) 唔 Add buzzword. 我依家就係試吓唔add buzzword 睇吓得唔得. 暫時我見係得, 但我未  rehearsal 全部 UCAS 報名過程, 另外 UCAS 9月先至再進一步開放其他報名程序, 我等9月時再繼續實習嘗試自己報 UCAS 可行性.

孩子用 OSSD 報讀2023年9月英國、加拿大及香港嘅大學，各大學出 Conditional Offer 給孩子詳細日子時間序可以參考呢個討論中三不妨考慮中四考IGCSE或兼讀OSSD/申請加拿大大學資料 - 初中教育 - 教育王國 (edu-kingdom.com)

只純粹單單以孩子這單一例子為例（不能以偏蓋全嘛!），肉眼可見，孩子用OSSD申請英國嘅大學比她用DSE申請及取錄最為有利，如無意外，會用BNO VISA 去 University of Durham 讀 Geography

但加拿大及香港嘅大學取錄情況卻非常不盡如人意了

以下這個討論帖
2023 申請加拿大大學討論區 - 海外留學 - 教育王國 (edu-kingdom.com)原來都有幾位網友同我孩子一樣 University of Waterloo Co-op 課程仍未有任個 Conditional Offer 取錄消息

今日係2023年3月27日，報讀今年9月英國、加拿大及香港嘅大學差不多塵埃落定，未有 Conditional Offer 嘅香港嗰3間大學相信最後機會要等到7、8月IB／DSE／GCEAL 出晒公開試成績孩子才可能有機會執死雞位，否則香港嘅大學申請全軍覆沒了。

純以自己個案為例子，用OSSD報大學:
1) 香港的大學最為不利，孩子完全無收到任何一間香港嘅大學的 Conditional Offer / Firm Offer。這亦打碎咗我一直以來對 Non Jupas 申請香港嘅大學固執偏見，一直以來 "以為" "深信"用 Non Jupas申請及取錄容易些。但我仍相信，用 IB / IAL ／ GCEAL Non Jupas 出情況 Conditional Offer 比 用OSSD 好好多，始終 IB / IAL ／ GCEAL 有公開試，水份低好多。

P.S. 中大及科大呢2間大學必須要 upload 香港中學 S4 及 S5校內成績的，因孩子同時DSE及OSSD課程一齊讀，故校內成績不好的。如果中大及科大以孩子香港校內成績去評估 OSSD的成績等於DSE幾多分，咁呢2間就必定不會出 Conditional Offer

2) 加拿大嘅大學以OSSD 申請，ON 省 以OUAC 101途徑申請比我預期及臆想取錄情況差太多，如果只係以University of Alberta 為目標，真係用DSE申請好過。University of Waterloo Co-op 課程如果係咁難取錄的話，用OUAC 101途徑亦不見得會更容易取錄，咁大家真係諗值唔值花港幣6位數字係香港 online 網上上堂去買一個希望。

＊推介一下，University of Alberta 真係好抵讀, 真心推介，學費以加拿大嘅大學嚟比較真心平、大學排名又高＊

3) 英國大學最鬆手，出 Conditional Offer 好多及好早日子已出，令申請者心理壓力最為放鬆


真係純粹個人意見，如果想用世界各地任何一個中學課程以 NON JUPAS 考香港嘅大學，用自修形式的話 IAL ／ GCEAL 有公開試嘅課程會好好多，OSSD 課程次一步才考慮吧。

分享以上資訊及經歷，希望後來者能得著有用資料，後來條路會好行些、順利些。

容讓我再次講講我嘅理念及實際情况，其實並不是同一時間“100%完全”應付DSE 及 OSSD 2個課程，其實一直以嚟係OSSD 課程為主。由於 OSSD 課程係 online school 完全無校院生活，亦可以講無咩同學，幾乎單打獨鬥咁上 online 堂、交功課及考試。對我而言，仍然返DSE 日校係彌補 OSSD online school 無法提供嘅校院生活及同學間難能可貴嘅友誼。

由於孩子間學校是直資，自由度比較寬鬆而學校亦容易商量、體恤及願意彈性處理，家長可以向校方書面講述由於同時自修兼讀 OSSD 課程，學校亦很好，DSE 課程的上堂、功課、測驗、Mock Exam 、最终DSE 報名及考試等非常非常彈性寬鬆處理，所以在日校DSE 課程上其實無需參予好多的，但官、津校可唔可以咁樣彈性寬鬆處理我就不清楚亦不了解。

PS:孩子DSE 公開試最終只會考中文及英文這2科。英文裸考、中文hea 考，中英文目標希望是 level 3(目的考中文作為日後可能考香港公務員作為後路之用而已)

因孩子讀加拿大課程選修科 Geography 、一科類似通識 Sociology 咁上下嘅科目，呢2科寫好多essay 的; 而加拿大英文科又要睇片、剪片、寫詩等等，對我孩子嚟講對英文有幫助。但如選修科係理科，我唔知有無咁多essay 要寫
