請教今年申請RC情況

以前RC一向鍾意收外面幼稚園，並不是優先考慮英基幼稚園生的。SJS就鍾意收英基幼稚園生 ...

咁就似乎係exempted interview effect, RC位已取晒esf kindies through internal assessment, so very limited places for outsider interview, so for outsiders even put 1st priority still need very good random number for an interview chance, unless have NR
Anyone know if such case for outsiders, will RC consider application materials for offer an interview chance? Or just by lucky number?

That’s right, but the one-form policy also deters many outside kindergarten students (including expatriates) from entering ESF at year 1.

其實 RC 已經忍左好多年

one form 玩法係填preference. 假如esf priorty kids只填一間學校，冇offer 就waiting (等唔到位, esf 也冇責任幫你搵位，因你放棄唔填preference)。若果preference 填晒，random no 差去到2nd /3rd choice，無論pis/out of zone，你點都要accept or reject 呢個offer , 冇得再wait 1st choice. 唔學似以前可以手持2-3個offers(rc, dc, esf)...

相信大部份家長唔會咁take risk 只填一間，唔填2/3/4th, 所以係今年dc同rc 打爆既原因。n 無人士，應要選hki esf 先會多d 機會。

Just read again timeline for y1 central application on website
Nov ~ esf kindies assessment at school
Mid Nov ~ non esf kindies receive interview notice
Mid Dec ~ deadline for confirm place by esf kindies
End Jan ~ Interview for non esf kindies
If so, school seems reserve certain places for non esf kindies, instead of allocate most places for esf kids then remaining invite for non esf kids interview?

I dunno if they reserve places for non ESF kindies or not, but the number invited to interview is much less than in previous years. My son still has one classmate being invited to interview. That’s why I say if you have LUCK, you can still have interview without NR.

Right, so those non esf kindies even pass interview in jan may still be in waiting list only

ESF kindergartens are doing internal assessments instead. I believe primary schools now do not have as much work load and thus would certainly interview non-esf kids. However, they still need to give offers to esf kindergarten kids first. So getting an interview might not be as meaningful as before.

以前RC或者真係有嘅，但我仔呢年據聞有人識ESF高層，想送非英基幼稚園生入RC，RC都話無能為力。我都係聽返嚟，信不信由你。

RC 也好 ESF 也好，Y1 application 算十分透明，好多人 monitor ，邊個敢出術。
想靠人事關係，可以話零可能。
其他年級，以往我的確聽過各間 ESF 有少少位收新來香港的 expat 子弟中間插班。

咁我估嚟緊會好多人買NR或者直接由k開始讀ESF.

唔怪得有同學仔K1上學期唔理住得遠都轉去東涌ESF

所以之前去top school talk，佢哋都建議我買INR,話我有兩個小朋友，當20萬一個買入學額
