Whitgift or City of London Freemen's ?

Has anyone heard of these two boarding schools? They have achieved some good results in A-Level and IB recently. Which one can provide better pastoral care? My boy is now 13 and going for the Year 9 by Sep 19.

The boarding house of City of London seems very small, just 50 students and most of them from Hong Kong.

Really?! Thank you so much, I thought the boarding house of Whitgift is small already, don't know CLFS is even smaller!

I would not recommend City of London Freemen , the academic performance is declining since it changed the head principal.

Which areas you want to know about this school?It is quite good in academic and very good in sports.
For academic, it is in the same league of Abingdon, Warwick, King's School Canterbury, Charterhouse and Dulwich.
The teachers can be pushy for grades.
Whitgift is in between Croydon (not good neighbourhood) and South Croydon (good).
It is not very well known in HK because Whitgift is a Day School (only) till 2013. That said, it is famous locally.
Someone told me there are 5-6 boys from HK last year and all of them are from some prestigious schools here.
If you want to apply for Year 9 2019, you better be very very hurry. Understand they are giving offers already.
Your son need to submit the formal application with academic reports and also Ukiset (not sure) results.
Then the school will consider them and should they find it satisfactory, your son need to take the School own entrance paper at the Consultant's office. Then after the school may arrange a video-conferencing interview.

Whitgift has a great academic reputation.
And it situated in a very beautiful and historic park in South Croydon.
