好朋友的孩子在本地小學畢業，父母原本想佢Form1去外國讀書, 但佢又考到香港出名嘅國際學校 (IB curriculum), 所以將留學嘅決定推遲。而家英國三間學校都要求答覆，到底去唔去讀year9。孩子嘅父母有以下嘅想法:
1) 三間英國學校都唔係行IB, 而孩子而家又讀得幾開心，鍾意IB的教法 (當然唔代表將來考試成績會好，因為IB考試嘅挑戰會比A-Level難).  孩子覺得讀A-Level又好似同之前香港嘅傳統學校冇乜大分別，所以有啲抗拒.

2）而家學校係純英語環境，冇乜機會講中文。反而擔心去到英國嘅寄宿學校會唔一樣，因為朋友講週末通常都係香港人同中國人留喺學校，本地人反而返晒屋企。

2）係咪應該喺香港留到去讀sixth form ,或者考埋IB直接報歐美嘅大學.

細路仔英語程度很高，接近native.
見到佢而家嘅朋友都係美國同埋英國外籍同學, 平時都係睇英文書多，父母反而要逼佢睇多啲中文書同報紙。

我睇過佢而家學校發表嘅每年大學派位成績，俾好多寄宿學校好，我都提議佢考慮留到考完IB diploma先走，到時可以揀埋美國同加拿大嘅大學。依家中途去咗英國考A-Level ,孩子可能讀得唔開心，有反效果。

CDNIS is full train IB, their IB results seemed not as impressive as CIS, GSIS, ESF (SC)

CIS and GSIS is quite pushy. We have a teacher friend there and she warned us that it may not the idle place to go if the kid doesn’t enjoy the local school system and looking for a big change. So after balancing various factors (academic results, campus environment, student mix and workload/pressure), and the fact that the first several years is not IB, my friend decided not to go. The local primary school training gave the kid slightly advantage on certain subjects and he can focus to improve/train the areas that only exist in IS. That  is the plan so far.

最尾兩年，要考公開試，相信甚麼課程都不會太enjoy了，無論甚麼課程，相信最enjoy還是幼稚園小學時初中也有少少honey moon period。你朋友孩子enjoy IB也好，我知有不少IS孩子反而不喜歡IB會揀A level, 但我相信點都好過DSE
