I may be outdated. When my kids were in IS, not many students needed tutorial classes. The teachers usually gave their e-mail addresses and telephone number to the students. If they encountered any problem, the students could send e-mails to the teachers or called him/her to discuss. Usually, the teachers would respond shortly. The teachers would also assign competent classmates to assist those who needed assistance. The school also set up a language center and a science and math center, which were run by the students of senior classes, say Grade 11 and Grade 12. The student helpers would be on duty during their free periods to answer any queries raised by the junior class students. The senior students were eager to run the learning help centers because it could build up their personal credentials. In fact, it was an honor to be a student helper. It was more than 10 years ago. Perhaps the situation might change today.
