May I know if there is anyone received a 2018 CIS reception offer without debenture or siblings priority? Seems like really difficult to get in, esp this year.

I know a few who got in without priority, most of them can speak native mandarin . I think for local people it’s easier for higher grades or y7 to get in.

Could you please share a little more background? Did they get in for 2018 reception? I know at least 2 alumini whose kids did not get in this year.

I can only say at reception they don’t recruit much local kids (Cantonese as first language), they like to recruit kids with native mandarin or English levels to enrich their language environment.
But at higher grades esp y7, there are more local kids cuz they look for relatively high Chinese level (actually most IS in HK have more local kids as the grades go higher cuz many expats will leave).

Thanks. I just checked their website said there are 96 spots for Reception year. But Corp bond holders, siblings and alumni will have priority, I wondered how many spots will be given to those without any connection/ priority ? Maybe not worth to apply At all...
