其實都幾肯定,因為家姐係,而且妹妹表徵明顯而且比家姐早出現
係咪職業治療最直接幫到佢地?
It is the occupational therapist's (OT) job, not the other therapists.
We met some OT from YWCA in a dyslexia training in HK and had a brief talk, then we know the organization is providing the service. And we also know an early screening test can be done for dyslexia as far as the kid has finished his K2 (~5 yrs old).
We ran the test to my kid who has finished his K2 and find he is very low risk from dyslexia. Now my kid is in K3 and find he is OK for both reading and writing.
The full dyslexia test can be run when the kid is in P1 or P2. But if the kid is OK from lower grades, then no need to run the full test. Each test will cost a couple of thousand dollars, and last around 1.5 - 2 hours, and very exhausting for both the kid and the therapist.
The early screening test is written by CAC. So no matter you go to CAC, YWCA or some other NGOs, they should use the same test.
Usually, the clinical psychologist, or the educational psychologist will run the test, then the occupational therapist will conduct the training. Social worker or teacher etc have no idea how to run the test.
But I am sure the queue (test or training) for SEN services is really long, no matter from Gov't or NGO. So make your inquiry and application ASAP.
