根據劍橋英語官方網站, 有兩類 Cambridge YLE (包括Starters) 考試中心：

There are two kinds of authorised exam centres: [size=1em]Open Centres
Open centres are authorised to run examinations for all candidates, including those who are not taking a preparation course at the institution that runs the centre. Many open centres also run preparation courses for Cambridge English exams. [size=1em]Internal Centres
Internal Centres are authorised to run examinations only for students enrolled at their institution. They are not able to accept entries from candidates who are not their students.
[size=30.7195px]第1類是 open centres, 任何人/家長都可以直接去為孩子報名，不需要透過任何中介人或什麽補習社。在香港只有英國文化協會及GPEX 兩家。
[size=30.7195px]第二類是 internal centres, 他們只可為自己本身的課程學生在中心內安排相關考試，不能直接接受街外學生報名。在香港只有 Monkey Tree 及ABC Pathways 兩家[size=30.7195px]。他們都是考電腦卷的。
