小兒明年便要選中學, 有沒有人有經驗, 可否指教下, 小兒現在全校成績亦有全級12名以內, 在外亦有參加很校外比賽, 澳洲英文作文比賽, 朗誦比賽, 3級鋼琴, 新南威爾斯英數及科學測試, 都有很好成績, 運動方面亦懂四色泳術. 但因為現在讀小學不是有名氣, 所以很害怕他在選校時比較遜色. 請各位有識之士賜教.

Don't worry, your son is a smart kid, I think it is not difficult to apply an EMI school in first round, but if he want to apply a top one, I think he would better improve his academic result.

Don't worry.

If a school accepts a student only on the basis of the 名氣 of the 小學, I will surely doubt the accountability of the school in education.

Good schools will teach and guide a student to be good in academic and moral standard.

Famous school is not a guarantee in "producing" a student who is good academically and morally.

如果說中學不看小學的水準是假的，那間小學得，那間小學名不符實，他們最清楚。但要知道，他們不是用一般人的名校不名校的標準去評估一間小學，所以就算你認為小朋友的學校不「名」，所報的學校亦未必同意。

其實如果你的小朋友有全級頭10，又有咁多課外活動，應該好吃香，唔駛咁擔心。頭輪競爭大，都係搏搏下，鍾意邊間便試試，話唔定有意外收穫。

Even your school is a 不「名」primary school but he is the 全級頭12 ，又有咁多課外活動, to get a seat in 2nd line EMI school in Shatin is not difficult.
Remember, 2nd line only, don't consider the top school like Liu Ming Choi and Tseung Shui Tim, you may try these if he is the top 5 in the P6 1st term exam.
My son is similiar to yours. He was the 全級頭13 in a 不「名」primary school P5 exam. To play save, I  push him to Pooi Kei, a DSS EMI school in Shatin.
