Say if the kid needs to spend 2 hours (forth and back) per day on traffic, it will be around 600+ hours per year, and times 12 years. The hours on traffic is non productive at all. And if use the 600+ hours per year for the other things (ie taking a rest, reading, playing etc), it will make a big difference.
