請教: 香港边間大學可以修讀大数據。入學要求如何?

大數據的確係好時尚，不過課程學啲嘜先至重要。大數據可以由好high level既吹水，到好貼地既程序篇寫。

我都傾向同意，好多新科技名詞是取代舊名詞的舊瓶新裝，先進版本的 data mining, business analytics, business intelligence。

當然科技進步了，數據庫擴大了，應用會更廣泛，更快，更有效，但亦衍生不少問題，將來要付出代價。

個人認為大數據又好，我讀書年代既傳統數據庫又好，基本野、low level野其實無嘜變。例如喺數據庫輸入、輸出資料，離唔開SQL，好似香港前途咁，可以話係五十年不變，所以識SQL指令其實好重要。

講得岩，好似business analytics, business intelligence，甚至現在都好heat下既machine learning, big data等，其實背後既數學模型好多時都係做緊clustering, classification同data reduction，而clustering大多數都係用緊k-mean，classification大多數都係用緊k-NN之種既方法，data reduction大多數都係用緊principal component呢啲已經用緊既舊方法。

咦，跟SAS，SPSS的統計軟件都有些共同點。

我的博士論文有用Principal Component and Factor Analysis (SPSS) 作數據分析，似 data reduction 多些。我只識應用及分析，但唔識programming ！

對中小企，或者小型家族生意（3-4人）有用嗎？
